President - Dr Malcolm Carruthers MD, FRCpath., MRCGP is Medical Director of the Centre for Men's Health, in London, Manchester and Glasgow and founder of the Andropause Society (The Society for the Study of Androgen Deficiency).  Dr Carruthers, started in general practice in London over 40 years ago and is a Life Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). 

Dr Carruthers first became interested in Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) in 1977 when he saw the remarkable results being obtained by the pioneer of the treatment, Dr Jen Moller, in Copenhagen.  He is a member of the European Academy of Andrology and International and European Societies for the Study of the Aging Male. Over the last 20 years he has commissioned extensive research and published books on the subject and spoken at international conferences worldwide.

Chairman  -  Mr Mark R Feneley, MD, FRCS, FRCS (Urol) Institute of Urology, University College London, UK, Consultant Urologist.  Mr Feneley graduated from Cambridge University and completed his basic medical training in London. His MD degree was awarded at Cambridge for research into the early diagnosis of prostate cancer, and received his Hunterian Professorship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. After completing higher Urological training at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals, London, he accepted a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Urological Oncology at the Brady Urological Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA. He then worked as a Consultant Urologist subspecialising in urological malignancy at Nottingham City Hospital and was there appointed Director of Postgraduate Education. In 2003, he began his present position as Consultant Urological Oncological Surgeon at the Institute of Urology, UCLH, London. Research interests include benign and malignant prostatic disease, PSA testing, biology of early prostate cancer and antibody targeting for imaging, with extensive publications in these fields.

Vice Chairman - Professor James Goodwin MSc PhD TD   Alongside his role as Vice Chairman of the Andropause Society (Society for the Study of Androgen Deficiency) Professor James Goodwin is the Head of Research at the charity Age UK. He holds a visiting professorship at Loughborough University in the Department of Human Sciences.  He is a member of the advisory board of the journal ‘Ageing Horizons’ at Oxford University and a member of the editorial board of ‘Quality in Ageing’.  He sits on numerous expert bodies, including the UN Research Agenda for Ageing panel, the UN Digital Health Group, a WHO Advisory Group, scientific advisory panels of the research councils and is Chair of the Halcyon Knowledge Transfer Steering Committee at UCL.

Past Chairman - Professor Tom Trinick BSc (Hons), MB BCh BAO, FRCP, FRCPE, FRCPI, FRCPath, EurClinChem, MD.  A former Chairman of the Andropause Society (Society for the Study of Androgen Deficiency), he is a Consultant in General Medicine and Chemical Pathology at the Ulster Hospital.  He is also lead clinician for Laboratory Medicine at the Ulster Hospital. He is a Royal College of Pathologists College Tutor, President of the Irish Hyperlipidaemia Association, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Regional Audit Committee, Chairman of the Eastern Board Area Medical Advisory Committee, Member of the Northern Ireland Regional Council of the RCPath and Council member of the Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke Association. He is also an ACB Regional Tutor in Clinical Biochemistry. He has had forty one papers and letters published and contributed to a number of scientific/medical books.

Secretary - Ms Jean Coleman Msc is a founding member and Honorary Secretary of the Andropause Society and worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for 33 years. For 16 years, Ms Coleman directed psychology services in Reading and Newbury predominantly for the adult mental illness service.  For the last 15 years, she has been Managing Director and Practice Manager of the Centre for Men’s Health.  In the 1980s she spent a considerable amount of time working as sports psychologist with the World, European, Commonwealth and Olympic gold medal winning training squads for the Shooting Sports (Rifle, Pistol, Clay Pigeon, Running Deer and Boar, Air Rifle and Pistol and Full bore Rifle). She is now a member of the Medical Committee of the International Sports Shooting Federation and a Director of the National Small bore Rifle Association.
